Grants: 1 / My Results: 1

United Way of Central WV awards grants to nonprofit organizations whose programs fit United Way’s impact goals in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health and Safety Net (basic needs) services. Awardees help to improve community conditions across our regional footprint in the areas we serve - Boone, Clay, Kanawha, Logan and Putnam counties.

The Letter of Intent (LOI) application is the first step in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. United Way community impact funding helps support a wide array of diverse nonprofit community organizations with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service code.  Please refer to the Eligibility Requirements prior to submitting an application.  Application deadline is January 5, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

Funding decisions are made through a competitive application process with local volunteer reviewers/donors. Eligible organizations proposing projects that are most closely aligned with United Way of Central WV’s impact areas and outcomes will be invited to submit a full grant application. It is anticipated that not all organizations submitting a LOI will be invited to complete a full application. If invited, the full grant application will be due by March 2, 2023.  Grant recipients must provide beneficiary information, success story and bi-annual outcomes.  The funding period is January-December 2024.
