United Way of Central WV awards grants annually to nonprofit organizations whose programs fit United Way’s impact goals in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health and Safety Net (basic needs) services. Awardees help to improve community conditions across our regional footprint in the areas we serve - Boone, Clay, Kanawha, Logan and Putnam counties.
Letter of Intent (LOI) applications are the first step in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. United Way of Central WV is accepting applications from incorporated nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service code until January 6, 2021 at 5 p.m.
Funding decisions are made through a competitive application process with local volunteer reviewers. Eligible organizations proposing projects that are most closely aligned with United Way of Central WV’s impact areas and outcomes will be invited to submit a full grant application. It is anticipated that not all organizations submitting a LOI will be invited to complete a full application. If invited, the full grant application will be due by March 2, 2021 at 5 p.m. Grant recipients must provide bi-annual outcomes and demonstrate measurable results on indicators that have been identified by United Way’s Community Needs Assessment. The funding period is January - December 2021.
